A Real Man – By Definition

When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.
1 Corinthians 13:11 KJV

In today’s world, it seems that everyone has their own definition of what a real man is. The worlds view is so far from what a real man really is. Most definitions include money, sex, women, and drugs or alcohol. Needless to say, only the Creator can define what He has created. Man. A real man. Jesus was on this earth as a man in the flesh. We know that we are far from perfect, but Christ is probably the best example to what a real man is.

“We look into the mirror everyday, but don’t see who we really are. We just see the reflection. One reason we don’t see how bad off we are is because you are comparing yourself to other people, instead of seeing if your life lines up with God’s Word” Pastor D.W. Anderson, Sr.

Obviously, the act of being a real man is Not easy. If it were, this world would be a much better place, wives would have better husbands, and children would have better fathers and role models to show and teach them how to be a man. Divorce rates ad well as crime rates would decrease.

Different writers have taken several scriptures from the bible to list some of the attributes of being a man.

My favorite is from a writer J.T. Waresak. The attributes are listed as follows…

1. Real men don’t leave their wives.

Ephesians 5:25-32

Job 31:1

Mark 10:9

2. Real men honor their wives as co-heirs.

I Peter 3:7

3. Real men teach their children God’s ways (both in word and action).

Deut. 6:6-7

4. Real men build into the lives of other men.

5. Real men dont use their words to demean others.

The things listed above defines a man. The link below contains the entire article.

The world’s idea of manhood is one of the main things that destroy marriages and families before they even began; so often time they don’t. Thus one of the reasons for so many single parenting households today. Our men need to understand that how many women a male can lay down with does not define a man, neither does how many he can get pregnant, or how many kids he can father. These acts actually show immaturity, and in some cases undiagnosed psychological conditions.

Smoking and/or drinking does not define a man. It shows that the male has problems and does not have the coping skills to handle them. Being mean and disrespectful to a wife, does not define a man. When the two are married they become (ONE). So this type of behavior actually shows that the man does not like himself since he is the wife and the wife is him. Last, having woman or kids outside the marriage does not define a man, it actually signals death. Furthermore, many sorts of soul ties can be picked up from this type of contact. Married men and women bodies are only for each other, no one else.

It is simple to do the wrong thing, and any male can do wrong. It takes a real man, to stand up and live out the characteristics of a real man, that his Creator has defined for him.

1. A man controls his emotions and passions

2. A man provides for his family

3. A man serves and leads his family

4. A man follows God’s design for masculinity.

“A courageous man is never off duty”. The linked listed below below is a copy of the article with the above tributes of a man as well as the above quote.

Below is another example of being a man with 44 scriptures to back it up.

So when you or someone you know needs a definition of “A real man”, it is best to get it from the most reliable source, and use the Creator’s definition, which can only be found in The Word of God.
